Rise of the BNP tops STUC Black Workers’ Conference Agenda in Glasgow

The BNP and campaigning against racism will be at the top of the agenda when the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) Black Workers’ Conference meets in Glasgow this weekend. The two day conference will be attended by black trade unionists from across Scotland and other organisations with an interest in combating racism and xenophobia.

STUC congratulates Clydeside Action on Asbestos on 25th Anniversary

Trade Union Week is an opportunity for MSPs and all Parliament staff to find out more about what’s happening in workplaces around the country. STUC urges action on rising youth unemployment

Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) analysis of official government statistics released today shows that the number of young people (18-24) claiming Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) has risen by 75% on average across Scotland since 2007. The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) Women’s Committee today (Friday 30 October) welcomed Equal Pay Day across the UK. The Fawcett Society campaign marks a national day of action to tackle the gender pay gap. The gender pay gap of 17.1% means that after 30 October, women work the equivalent of the rest of the year for free. Grahame Smith, STUC General Secretary, said:
