Unpaid overtime increases across Scotland – Scottish employees are missing out on £4,517 a year

The number of employees working unpaid overtime in Scotland increased by 20,000 in 2007, bringing the total to 436,000, according to a new analysis of official statistics published by the STUC and TUC today (Friday).

Union Learning Reps from across Scotland travelled to the Scottish Parliament to have their say on Deaf Awareness, Dyslexia and Lifelong Learning. The ‘Dyslexia in the Workplace’ session launched the development of a Scottish Trade Union Strategy to support working adults with dyslexia.

STUC welcomes Scottish Government Decision on Colleges and Charitable Status

The Scottish Trades Union Congress have welcomed the decision by the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning to exempt colleges from the need to comply fully with the current legislation governing charitable status, but retain Ministers’ powers over the sector.
