Reacting to the latest UK inflation figures published this morning (Tuesday 14 October) Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) General Secretary, Grahame Smith, said
“Today’s figures were widely anticipated and should not provoke a tightening of monetary policy. Recession is the major threat and we look forward to at least another half point cut in interest rates in November.”
