Responding to the publication of its Sex and Power Scotland 2008 Report, Mary Senior, Assistant Secretary of the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) said:
“The Equality Commission’s Report underlines that, sadly, it is still a white man’s world. We really do need dramatic changes in our workplaces, boardrooms and town halls, so as we can utilise effectively the skills and talents of all of the population”.
Ms Senior added: “The Commission is absolutely right to blame inflexible approaches to work, discrimination, and stereotyping. A lack of quality part time work, results in the under-employment of far too many women workers”.
