STUC Assistant Secretary Dave Moxham said:
“STUC works closely with voluntary sector employers to make the case for full cost recovery and funding levels, which enable them to provide levels of service and staff terms and conditions, which are consistent with top quality public service delivery. There are too many examples where central and local government treat the voluntary sector as poorer cousins.
“However, the bottom line is that decent service delivery requires decently paid staff. The Quarriers workers are taking action not just in their own interests, but in the interests of the people they care for and they deserve our full support.”
