Speaking after the Scottish Parliament passed the Rights of Relatives to Damages Bill, STUC General Secretary, Grahame Smith, said:
“This is a very positive change in legislation which will greatly assist sufferers and their families at a very difficult time.
“Politicians are understandably criticised when they get things wrong but they should also get recognition when they get things right and today is one of those days. This change in law is devolution in action; this change in law is leading the UK and will resonate strongly with those who fought long and hard for a Scottish Parliament.”
