STUC welcomes publication of equal pay guide as world celebrates International Women’s Day
The STUC will be celebrating as the Scottish Women’s Convention launches an Equal Pay Guide on International Women’s Day (Thursday 8 March).
Speaking ahead of the reception at Edinburgh Castle, Mary Senior, Assistant Secretary, STUC, said:
“The gender pay gap is an affront to working women, and progress to close it is pitifully slow.
“The Scottish Women’s Convention booklet will reach out to all women, and cut out the jargon that lawyers, employers – and even trade unions - sometimes use. Women must be aware of the enormous impact that unfair and unequal pay can have on their lifetime earnings and pension.”
