STUC on MPC Decision

Commenting on the Monetary Policy Committee’s decision to leave rates unchanged, Grahame Smith, STUC General Secretary said:

“This is the correct decision. The impact of recent rises is not yet clear and inflationary pressures are likely to ease as energy prices fall. Another increase at this stage would have been a serious blow to Scottish industry”.
