6th Scottish Hazards Conference
10am-4pm
Thursday, 16 November 2006
STUC, Glasgow
Tomorrow (Thursday 16th November) over 100 delegates from throughout Scotland will gather at the STUC Centre in Glasgow for the 6th annual Scottish Hazards Conference.
At a time of rapid expansion of the European Union, unprecedented international movement of work and labour and unacceptable transfer of work risks from the developed to the developing world, the conference will concentrate on the health and safety of vulnerable groups in Scotland – young workers, migrant workers, workers with disabilities – and on action being taken in Scotland and throughout Europe to fight for better conditions for all workers. In light of ongoing unacceptable levels of workplace death and injury in Scotland, the conference will also be continuing Hazards campaigning for strong corporate killing legislation in Scotland.
The Hazards conference brings together trade union activists, community activists, occupational health and safety professionals and others involved in workplace health and safety. It is open to anyone with an interest in workplace health.
At this year’s conference, delegates will hear from a range of speakers. These include:
