DEATH OF MO MOWLAM STATEMENT FROM BILL SPEIRS
Following the death of former Cabinet Minister, Mo Mowlam, Bill Speirs, STUC General Secretary, said:
"The death of Mo has the most immediate impact on her family, but is also a loss to the whole of the Labour Movement, and to the British people.
"No-one who was at the STUC Congress in Glasgow in 1999 when she received a genuinely spontaneous standing ovation will ever forget the occasion.
"Mo was one of the best, and her death is a loss to us all."
